An iPod education
If you’re looking to give your child a head-start in life, and most parents these days are, you need look no further than an iPod. Yes, its primary function is to play music and provide the listener with entertainment, but they also make valuable educational tools.
In the US, the product: Reader: Mastering series of educational software has proven very popular with helping children adapt to school, as it gives them an advantage over other children.
The software runs from levels such as Kindergarten (or nursery) through to subjects such as High School Maths and SATs, the equivalent of our GCSE exams.
The software runs on the iPod and has been designed to engage the students, of all ages, using graphics, video and of course audio technology.
For younger children the system combines text with audio that helps children to improve their reading, both in terms of comprehension and speed.
Michael Rothstein is the president and the co-founder of the development company behind Weekly Reader, Innovative Knowledge:
Weekly Reader’s educational software is developed to support classroom curriculums and improve the learning process among students of all grade levels and learning stages.
It’s our goal to help students learn more effectively and improve their comprehension. Through our research, we determined that supplemental learning needs to complement teaching and are providing schools with our breakthrough learning process based on the interest from their students.
The software runs on 5th generation iPods, and the iPod nano.
