No Blu-Ray for Xbox 360, Microsoft confirms!

Monday, March 17th, 2008

According to media reports, an executive from Microsoft Corporation confirmed the company has no plans to include Sony Corp’s Blu-ray high-definition DVD technology in its Xbox 360 video game console.

The Group product manager of Xbox 360, Aaron Greenberg, stated the company did not plan to include Blu-ray in its Xbox 360. However, according to the reports, it will continue investing in its Xbox Live online service that enables users to rent hundreds of movies, including those in high-definition. He underlined the fact that Microsoft is the only console offering digital distribution of entertainment content.

Greenberg also confirmed that the company would be in a better inventory situation by April, when Take-Two Interactive Software Inc plans to launch its ‘Grand Theft Auto 4’ game. This game is anticipated to be one of the best-selling titles of 2008 and could prove to be a catalyst for pushing sales of the Xbox 360 and PS3.

With Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board, you can exercise, while listening to music

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

While listening to the music on one of your favourite MP3s, you may wish to indulge in some exercise. We recommend Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board to you for this purpose. This clever device is pressure-sensitive and monitors shifts in balance in any direction. It is wireless, hence can cause no injury. You will be able to use this board with other games such as sports and fighting games.

You will be glad to note that eight different users can monitor their performance and progress with Wii Fit, enabling all the family members to develop their own fitness strategies. The game creates a special Wii Fitness Channel on your Wii where you can quickly check your BMI and other fitness parameters. This information is then used by the console to calculate your Wii Fit Age.

You can use this board for daily Wii Fit tests that measure and evaluate key fitness indicators. The Wii Fit Age is measured by factoring the user’s BMI reading, testing the user’s center of gravity and conducting quick balance tests.
