This is a release to excite even the most sceptical of Nintendo Wii detractor; a cheerleading game with virtual pom-poms!

505 Games are releasing a game based on every American high school girl’s favourite pastime; cheerleading. By using two Wii remotes as pom-poms, players will be able to follow the complex routines of dancing around their living rooms in front of the TV while trying to spell out the name of a school.

According to the press release from 505 Games, the game offers you the chance to be just like a real cheerleader:

We Cheer gives players the chance to jump, shout and shake it all about just like a real cheerleader.

By using two Wii Remotes as virtual pom-poms, wannabe cheerleaders follow on-screen commands to perform a variety of high-energy spins, kicks and twists, while taking part in professionally choreographed routines.

You can expect there to be a pom-pom set of peripherals to plug your Wii remote into as well, just to add to the realism.

The game is set to launch in the US next year, just in time to help you burn off that excess Christmas weight.
