Star Wars the Force Unleashed on Wii

The dreams of Star Wars fans the world over will come to life this Summer (or Autumn if you believe the revised release date) when Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is released on the Nintendo Wii.

Unlike the other versions of the game, the Nintendo Wii promises to allow players to control a Lightsaber in the game using the Wii remote, meaning you will finally be able to stand in your living room and wave your Jedi weapon around the room… for real.

Rumours are that the game will also have an additional Lightsaber addon so you can genuinely brandish something that looks, and feels, like the real thing while you hack through hordes of Stormtoopers in the game.

The Wii version, in development by Krome Studios, will also add an exclusive duel mode in which players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master.

“The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console’s motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life,” said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. “We’ve worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force.”
