Wii Fit released later this month

Did you know that January sees the highest ever number of sign ups at gymnasiums and fitness centres? Yet very few of the people who sign up actually stay more than a month!

That’s because with the New Year, and following the Christmas indulgences, people on the whole decide it’s time to get fit. However the act of actually going to the gym and ‘exercising’ in front of other, often fitter, people isn’t something many of us are comfortable with.

Fear not, for going to the gym, buying the latest Wag’s fitness video and folding up that fitness equipment to store under your bed are now things of the past, thanks to the guys at Nintendo.

Later this month sees the launch of the thing that will change home fitness forever, the Wii Fit.

For years games companies have failed to get women interested in gaming. Females have always represented an untapped market as video games has remained a predominantly male dominated arena. With the Wii Fit, that’s all about change, as Nintendo release something that every woman will be interested in.

The Wii Fit is basically a balance board, similar in size to a weighing scales, that responds to your movements to control your actions within the game.

With the Wii Fit you’ll be able to perform exercises, monitor your BMI (body mass index) and improve your balance. It also includes over 40 types if training activities, all designed to provide you with aerobic exercises, muscle conditioning, yoga training and balance.
